How we create our holographic papers?
Holography is more than just decorative. It not only gives premium packaging a unique finish, but also enables brands to protect their products from counterfeiters. What’s more, just like the rest of our metalized paper range, it’s 100% recyclable. Here’s how our holographic papers are made:
- A plain paper base is embossed with either a unique design or one of more than 100 standard patterns from the NMS library.
- The paper is then metallized with the usual metallized vacuum vaporisation process. When light hits the embossed metallized surfaces, this creates the effect that we recognise as holography.
- A top layer of lacquer is then added in order to condition the paper and complete the process.
