Sparkling wine labels that go with a pop
When you take into account the fact that more than 60%* of customers tend to walk into a wine store without knowing exactly what they want, it’s important to ensure your packaging has sparkle factor. What’s more, sparkling wine, which owes its bubbles to its high carbon dioxide content, is a fixture of festive occasions such as weddings and end-of-year celebrations, meaning that it needs to look as good as it tastes. But more goes into creating labelling solutions for festive wines than meets the eye.
Aesthetically speaking, sparkling wine packaging should hint at luxury, drama and fun. In the United States, wineries have been choosing to set their sparkling varieties apart from their traditional offering with metallic labels that add a touch of festivity and complement the color of the wine.
But alongside good looks, labels need to offer technical performance that enable them to stand up to challenging refrigeration environments as well as immersion in an ice bucket. By opting for wet strength labels based on high quality face stock such as metallized paper, producers can ensure labels will stay looking good, without peeling or disintegrating, throughout the storage and delivery process and well into the night.
