Sparkling wine: not just for the festive season!

Metallic effects, bold, contrasting colours and smooth, velvety textures are a great way to make bubbly varieties stand out to seasonal shoppers, while high quality facestock such as metalized paper enables labels to resist transport and storage conditions, not to speak of immersion in an ice bucket.
Few things are as evocative of the winter holiday season as sparkling wine, whether you’re celebrating having your loved ones all in one room, ringing in the new year in style or showing business partners your appreciation. But at the same time, it looks like sparkling wine may be moving away from its festive associations and becoming more of a year-round staple (and who are we to complain?).
According to recent research*, US consumers - i.e the biggest global wine market - are increasingly likely to pair sparkling wine with a relaxing informal meal, rather than save it for special occasions. But surprisingly enough, this doesn't seem to be compromising the premiumisation of the sector: average spend per bottle seems to be increasing, meaning producers would do well to keep a focus on bold, beautifully designed packaging.
