In the spotlight - Holly Smith (USA)
How long have you been with the company?
Since April of 2016.
What is your primary role with ARM?
I am a process operator. I run the Embosser and have secondary responsibilities on other machines. I can assist on the metallizers.
Why do you think you think you have been successful at running the Embosser?
I think it is a combination of my printing background (I used to work for USA Today as a printer) and mechanical ability as well as an understanding of the process and attention to detail. There is always something to learn on the machine. If there is a problem you have to recognize and try to learn from it. I like it because it’s kind of creative.
What do you like most about working for ARM?
I like that there are a lot of kind people that work here. At any given time, there is always someone around who is not just friendly but very kind.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to write music and I play guitar, piano and drums.
What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?
That I know some sign language, which I would like to study more. My time is always spent learning, whether it’s sign language, communication, food, or the mind-body connection. I used to eat a lot of processed food. Since changing my diet, combined with an adequate amount of sleep, my brain fog is gone. Retaining information is much easier.
